Released in 1979, the Heuer Ref. 844 was launched to fulfill the high demand for a good quality skin-diving watch with an affordable price.
This reference, at first made in France, saved Heuer company in the middle of quartz crisis and thanks to its success it formed the basis for what would become the Heuer and then TAG Heuer 1000 Professional series. Throughout its production span, upgrades on the dial and hands were implemented giving the reference a fruitful range for collectors to admire. While early examples of the reference featured cathedral hands, Heuer replaced them with mercedes hands starting from 1979.
The present Heuer Professional 200 ref. 844-2 with a 1.5 thousand serial from circa 1980 was one of the early Swiss Made examples and features a Mark II matte dial and mercedes hands.
Boasting a superbly preserved bezel insert and an attractive case, the present example is fresh-to-the-market and a perfect choice for daily wear.
