1990s Lucien Rochat Soleil 18Kt

The ultra-thin golden masterpiece: a rare Lucien Rochat Soleil Limited to just 100 pieces.

Unveiling the pinnacle of Swiss dress watchmaking, the Lucien Rochat Soleil Limited Edition stands as one of the maison’s most celebrated creations. Entirely crafted in 18k yellow gold and produced in only 100 numbered examples, this ultra-thin automatic timepiece embodies elegance, exclusivity and mechanical refinement.

Recognized as the flagship creation of Lucien Rochat’s golden era, the Soleil is distinguished by its hand-engraved case and fluted caseback, a showcase of artisanal craftsmanship rarely seen in modern watchmaking. We love the genuine mother-of-pearl dial with its subtle iridescence and applied gold indices, making this watch equally appealing on the wrist of a discerning gentleman or lady.

At its heart beats the celebrated Frédéric Piguet Calibre 71, at that time one of the world’s thinnest automatic movements — the same high-end calibre once encased by Breguet and other prestigious maisons. With 35 jewels, a refined beat rate of 18,000 A/h and an impressively slim profile, it is the perfect fusion of precision and elegance. The movement is housed beneath a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, while the watch is completed by an original Lucien Rochat leather strap and gold-plated buckle. Its discreet proportions allow it to slip effortlessly under a cuff, the very definition of a true luxury dress watch.

For collectors of vintage dress watches, the Soleil represents an opportunity not to be missed. An exclusive edition, celebrated by the brand itself as one of its masterpieces, combining noble materials (gold, mother-of-pearl, sapphire) with uncompromising mechanical artistry.

Condition
Presented in pristine overall condition, showing only lightest handling marks consistent with minimal wear. The hand-engraved 18k gold case and fluted caseback remain beautifully preserved and unpolished, while the genuine mother-of-pearl dial shows no imperfections. The crown functions correctly for time-setting, while the sapphire glass is preserved in pristine condition. Water resistance has not been tested. The automatic Frederic Piguet 71 movement is running smoothly at the time of cataloguing. Original Lucien Rochat leather strap and original buckle complete the set.
